What a nightmare getting a new mobile phone was choosing form the millions of models available. Finally one one but it has a different size sim card, so more problems there. I could cut the old one down to size but then it will not fit in the old phone (which would be handy).... However just had and idea, I could make an adaptor or buy one as I just check and people do sell them on ebay Ended up getting one of these phones www.johnlewis.com/motorola-moto-g-3rd-generation-smartphone-android-5-4g-lte-sim-free-8gb/p2097667?colour=BlackCan only use it on wifi at the moment as it has no sim in it as the old one is too big. still, wifi is free

Microsoft maybe be shyte but it is familiar shyte!
Well actually I am not familiar with the tablet stuff on Microsoft so that is not completely true.
I am find Android a bit of a pain, even to create a simple text file I had to get an app to do it and I can't access or indeed find the file without the app.
Seems I have a lot to learn there!
I always go PAYG as I rarely make calls outside the house.

Actually now I am more familiar with it is is not so bade after all. I have found out how to create files now and it is really good, I particularly like that I can 'talk' a note rather than type it. I as impressed, I said "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" and it it got it perfectly. Indeed if I could hook it up to the PC I could 'talk' my messages rather than type, there woudl certainly be less spelling mistakes etc...

Yes so it seems Android comes without a file explorer which is kind of essential to using a computer, so you have to download one, I got ES File Explorer.
So I am much happier now, without it Android it pretty useless.

I would not use it enough to make it worthwhile or me to have a contract I'd just be subsidising the heavier users. You do of course pay for the phone through the contract indirectly. I prefer to buy it out right and then PAYG. Some comparisons of the Iphone and Moto G Another one I looked as was the Alcatel, but I preferred the display on the Alcatel, there are loads of thing to consider though and you could spend forever comparing and still find things you did not realise after buying so you just have to go with what feels best for you. Everyone has different opinions. The iphone is too expensive for me really, costs more then my PC!! I also got a Kindle Fire tablet for £35, I am really pleased with that you can't go wrong at the price, even if you drop it down the loo

Sometimes mine scrolls fast sometimes it doesn't depends on the site or something like that, or the size of pictures or various other things. It sounds like a good deal if you are getting 2 years calls and data but I only use PAYG as I don't tend to use it much. I am on giffgaff which has cheap calls 10p a min I think, not sure I understand all the details, it can all be very confusing untill you get used to it. Camera on mine is OK but I have really used it much really, not sure I am keen on the wide angle lens though, but I can set it to 4:3 which helps. I have a better compact camera with a 10X zoom on it. My tablet if good for around the house for browsing and other stuff, watching TV etc.. The cameras on it are pretty rubbish, but you don't expect much for £35 really. I will have to take some snaps on the phone and see what they like like on a big screen, if they are not too badd I will post some!

id struggle to read 5000 a month Yea I just worked it out, that is 166 texts a day!! I guess the thing is they they do not cost the telephone company much, they are only a few bytes of data so they can give you more than you need, it is images and video that use lots of band width. That sort of contract would be OK for someone like me who does not use much mobile data.

bought mum her first phone for xmas
it was faulty, mic didn't work
bought her a new one from Tesco
as the original is from the internet
I phoned the internet shop today
told them the plight and they said they would e mail me a address label to print and return it
which was lucky as mum bought me a printer for xmas
had to set that up today
works great, but cant fathom the wifi bit
not read the instructions yet or put the cd rom in lappy, it loaded and configured printer via a usb lead and the internet

Wifi in a printer is handy if you can get it working saves on cables and the mess they make.
I am not sure if you need a cable modem for that or not, I am not sure how it works.
I can connect my camera to the PC via wifi, but I am not sure if it goes through the modem or not, most of my wifi things do, ie phone and tablet. But they are all connecting to the internet this way, the phone just connects to the computer. I am not sure how yours would work if yours is a mobile connection.
But anyway all I had to do was put the the password in and it connected OK, however printers are probably different, there is no screen or menus on a printer I think it's a kind of dumb device. I guess you will just have to see what the instructions say.

I don't like printers much though, well it is filling the cartridges with ink when they run out that is the problem, I end up covering in fecking ink It is simpler to buy new cartridges but they are very expensive so I use cheap refill ink. That tends to leak out too making a mess!

I don't print that much stuff but its when you need to its a pita if you don't have one
ive used the cheeper inks before and I don't find them as good
I think its just best to bite the bullet on some things

Yea, maybe so, the cheap ink tended to leak out and make a huge mess everywhere, but them cartridges are very expensive, I don't tend to do much printing though have not used mine for years. Also if they leak when printing they are no good, so as you say may be best to bite the bullet, they could pretty much give the printers away given the price of the ink. Indeed given you get cartridges with new printer and new cartridges tend to be cost 50% as much as the printer, so the actually printer is being sold for the same as a set of cartridges.

its much faster

Same one? A Moto G 3rd generation? I am fine with mine, although I don't tend to use it a lot as I have a tablet I use at home and don't tend to have much need to use it when I am out but it is there should I need it. What did you have before? I am quite used to it now, you need to get a few apps, ES File explorer is one I have. It does not have a file explore built in as you have in windows. It is very nice but as I say I don't have much call to use it, I use it as a clock at home most of the time, I got a nice clock app with the date and weather on ie temp cloudy or not wind speed, quite handy to see it all at a glance. It is also hand as an alarm clock.. Yea that is one thing, I used to forget to put out my bins so I set several alarms the day before to make sure I put it out, not missed a collection yet. It is handy I also use it like a note pad ie I photograph stuff I need to remember such as metre reading or stuff I need to get from the shops, or stuff in the shops I am interested in. Can't fault it really.
