Have you ever wondered if we have free will? The free will mentioned in holy scriptures is more of an ultimatum. You are given a choice between following a supreme deity so you can be rewarded after you die or neglect such a supreme deity to where you are eternally punished in the fires of a hellscape. This seems like something that would happen should Roko's Basilisk came into existence. There has to be more. What if there were authors and programmers of the universe. A collective force calling themselves G.O.D, whatever the initials stand for, that is responsible for the environment for which we inhabit. They direct our lives through events that occur within the universe leaving the choices to us. Are you suppose to miss a certain planned event or a doctor's appointment because "they" have better plans for you? Then something such as a car accident or a delay on the freeway may prevent you from attending. In this situation, it is time to examine the consequences of missing such a planned occurrence. Maybe it was scheduled by the powers that be.

I think the problem is that we all think we are important and matter in the grand scheme of things, when the truth is we probably don't. No one is up there giving a shit about what we do or don't do. We make our own choices and those choices have consequences. The only thing I believe in is Yin and Yang , now that makes sense.

Yes I think we have free will, scientists used to think the universe was like clock work, but quantum mechanics says this is not the case, events are not entirely predictable we are not clockwork machines. As too whether there is a God or not I guess we will find that out soon enough. I have no idea what Roko's basilisk is and after looking at the wiki (well rationalwiki) page about it I still have no idea. Although seems to explain it Roko's basilisk www.businessinsider.com/louis-del-monte-interview-on-the-singularity-2014-7i guess the problem with artificial intelligence is that it is not like to be smarter than it's creator, or more capable. Especially so when the cleaning lady might accidently unplug it.
