Came to my PC after being out and it was stuck at the login screen, decided to power off after about 5 mins.
Even then it would not boot up, it said there was a problem and was going to reboot, which it did, this time successfully.
Rather annoying, I had a similar thing a few months ago.
Windows 8.1 was more reliable.
No idea what the problem is really, maybe if I had left the PC for longer when it appeared to be stuck it would have been OK?
Anyhow I check the maintenance log and it said I needed to scan the drive for errors, whcih I did and it says I need to restart to fix the error. The error was no doubt due to me powering off I guess.
I ran a disk scan a while back and it was 100% OK.
Knowing my luck when I do it that it will not reboot!!
Will do that a bit later as I am recording match of the day to my PC.

Yes not problems for a long time now.
It seems when I turned off fast boot up the problem got worse, since I turned it back on I've had no problems, about 7 weeks now of smooth running.
