Think I mention I order a dongle in another thread (cant find it) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121947923318?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITGot it today but can't seem to get it to work, well it does seem to work up to a certain point as it works in my monitor and I can connect to it via my phone, but only as far as the set up page, when I try can "cast" the screen to the monitor it just says "connecting". So not sure what is wrong, might be something due to the wifi on the phone. I did think I might have problems when I bought it but as it was only £11.59 I took the risk, maybe I will get it working maybe not. If it does not I will go for a refund, if I can't get one I would try and resell if if I can be arsed. Or maybe give it to my brother or cousins to see it it works on their phones.

Well I have stopped tying to get that working since I had to re-install Windows, I have some suspicions about that dongle being related to the computer being wiped out even though the dongle was never connected to the PC just the monitor.
However it does seem to work in an odd way, in that you do have to enter a strange IP address in the set up, that might allow a hacker in possibly as they maybe be able to get into my network which is connected to the computer.
It is something I have been meaning to look into but never got round to yet.
I fail to see why it works the way it does as it is only sending from the phone to the monitor, it should work without being connect to the internet at all really in my opinion.
So rather odd, I'll look into it when I have time but it is not important really as I can do all I can do on my phone on my PC anyway, plus it didn't even work really, managed to send one still picture.
But it seem more than a coincidence that only time my computer was *ever* been wiped out like that was after using that dongle.
There were no errors on the drive either.
So I am very suspicious and I won't even try again until I am 100% confident, which will probably be never!!

Yea they can be more trouble than they are worth.
I think maybe it would not work with my phone anyway, I think maybe the ability was disabled, but it is confusing, it is not something I need really anyway.
I just though the picture of a streamed football match looked better on the tablet however when you scales that 7" screen up to a 24" monitor I expect it is the same as what I can watch directly via the PC anyway.
It is black Friday today you can get the same tablet for £30.

Yea my tablet is pretty heavy but I don't use it much, I put it in a stand and use as an alarm clock, I mainly use it when up stairs on the bog. I play sudoku on it or sometimes surf the web, check the weather or watch stuff I don't want to miss on TV etc I think the battery may be deteriorating though seems slow to charge now.
